Vadim Makhorov and Vitaly Raskalov are ‘skywalkers’ – fearless adrenaline junkies who get their kicks climbing (usually illegally) to the top of some of the world’s tallest structures, and even scaling the tower cranes above the buildings.
And it’s not difficult to see the attraction of this risky and thrilling sport. Apart from the buzz of dodging the security staff on these often heavily-guarded sites, the Russian and Ukrainian duo wear GoPro cameras and high quality DSLR cameras to bring back the most absolutely mind-blowing images of what they get to see way up there – akin to the views you would see from an airplane window.
The pair most recently climbed the Shanghai Tower – ascending all 121 stories and even going to the top of the crane above the roof. The photos and footage they captured are simply stunning.
