Clinging to the side of the Tianmen Mountain in the Zhangjiaje National Forest Park in Hunan Province in China is probably the scariest 100 metres in the world! A pathway just 1.6 metres wide has been constructed which offers the more intrepid tourist the chance of a lifetime to see the unrivalled and breathtaking views of the surrounding region.
The pathway has a dizzying 99 snaking turns as it meanders across the Tianmen Mountain. It’s the third glass skywalk in the region which also includes the infamous Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge which is the longest of ts type in the world. The region is also home to the world’s longest cable car ride that is over 7 kilometres in length and take over thirty minutes to complete. Whilst being nothing short of terrifying, this marvel of Chinese engineering looks well worth a visit for the stout-hearted tourist.
